Adi Hütter on Gladbach’s youth: “They play because they deserve it.”

Speaking after Borussia Mönchengladbach’s 3-1 win at Wolfsburg, head coach Adi Hütter praised the performance of his younger players and American Joe Scally scoring his maiden Bundesliga goal.

“That he makes it 3-1 is symbolic,” Hütter told Sky Germany. “They play because they deserve it and they ensure competition. I’m not crazy about youth, it’s always about performance.”

Scally (18), Kouadio Koné (20), Luca Netz (18) and Jordan Beyer (21) all started for Die Fohlen on Saturday afternoon, helping Gladbach climb the table.
