Villarreal pip Valencia to Borussia Dortmund’s Paco Alcácer

Kicker confirm a report from Marca tonight that Villarreal have pipped Valencia to the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcácer.

Valencia had agreed personal terms with the Spaniard but failure to sell Rodrigo to Barcelona has resulted in the deal being called off at the eleventh hour.

This has prompted fellow Spanish club Villarreal opening negotiations with BVB for the transfer of the 26-year-old, who would replace Karl Toko Ekambi.

Borussia Dortmund are expected to receive around €20 million for the sale of Alcácer, which would fund a move for Juventus midfielder Emre Can.
