Ralf Rangnick advises Timo Werner to stay at RB Leipzig

Head of Sport and Development at Red Bull Ralf Rangnick has advised striker Timo Werner to stay at RB Leipzig to aid his development.

“He has continued to develop, especially as far as his hit rate is concerned and it could improve again under Julian Nagelsmann and his colleagues,” Rangnick told Mitteldeutsche Zeitung. “I would be happy if he would stay.

“Timo will have to consider whether he would get the opportunity to play as regularly as he does here if he joined another club.”

Werner has interest from both Liverpool and Bayern Munich with a preference to play abroad if he was to leave RB Leipzig.

The 23-year-old has a contract with the Bundesliga club until 2023 but could leave this summer for a fee between €50 million and €60m.
