Official | RB Leipzig sign Dominik Szoboszlai

RB Leipzig have this afternoon announced the signing of 20-year-old Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Salzburg on a contract until 2025.

According to Kicker, RB Leipzig have paid an initial of €20 million plus bonuses.

“I am very happy that the move to RB Leipzig worked out,” said Szoboszlai.

“The club has made great progress, is one of the best teams in the Bundesliga and is also causing a sensation in the Champions League.

“The move to Leipzig is perfect for my development, because I come to a top coach and an incredibly ambitious team that is very young, but has already gained a lot of experience and was able to celebrate some successes.”

RB Salzburg head coach Jesse Marsch admitted in November on the Fútbol with Grant Wahl podcast that Szoboszlai would be likely to leave the Austrian club: “The reality is that a guy like Dominik Szoboszlai is likely to have many suitors this winter.”

The Hungary international has played 82 games in all competitions for RB Salzburg, scoring 26 goals and creating 34, which promoted interest from several European clubs – Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Arsenal and AC Milan had all shown concrete interest in signing the 20-year-old, who opted to join RB Leipzig.
