Dutch side PSV have this morning announced the signing of Philipp Max from Augsburg on a four-year contract.
The left-back will join the Eredivisie side for an original fee of around €8 million which is likely to rise to €10 million with bonuses. Augsburg will also receive a future fee if Max is sold by PSV.
Max played 156 matches for Augsburg, scoring 15 goals and assisting on 29 occasions.
The 26-year-old defender stated to PSV’s official website; “I am keen to win trophies. That’s why I have chosen to join PSV. PSV have kept a close eye on me for some time yet and were keen to sign me. I talked a couple of times with head coach Roger Schmidt. PSV’s style of football really appeals to me and I like PSV. They want to win trophies and so do I. I just like the big picture and can’t wait to get started.”
