Milot Rashica out of action until January

Werder Bremen confirm that 24-year-old attacker Milot Rashica has suffered a tendon injury in his left thigh and will be out of action until the end of January.

On Tuesday morning, the Kosovo international stopped training prematurely and following an MRI scan on Wednesday, Rashica was diagnosed with a tendon injury.

“I’m very sorry for Milot,” said head coach Florian Kohfeldt. “He was fit again after his last injury and his form was improving. It’s a shame that we will miss him for a long time with his quality.”

Rashica has played just 279 minutes of Bundesliga football this season for Werder Bremen, missing the first three games of the season with a knee injury.

With eight goals and seven assists in the Bundesliga last season, Rashica’s form was integral to keeping Werder Bremen in the top division. His performances resulted in speculation that the Kosovan would depart the club in the summer – but a buyer wasn’t found.
