Mikel Arteta on Granit Xhaka: “I think he will stay.”

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta believes Granit Xhaka will remain at the club despite concrete interest from Hertha BSC.

“I think he’ll stay,” said Arteta. “I really like him. The way we want to play, if we get him on board then he can be a tremendous player for the football club.

“It’s his commitment, I like the way he focusses, I like the way he lives his profession, he’s willing to learn and he’s a great football player.”

According to Xhaka’s entourage, the Arsenal midfielder and Hertha BSC had reached an agreement with just a fee left to be negotiated.

It now appears as though Xhaka will remain at the Emirates for the time being with Arteta keen on making the Switzerland international a key member of his squad.
