Freiburg attacker Luca Waldschmidt has agreed a five-year contract with Portuguese club Benfica, according to Sky Germany.
Benfica sporting director Rui Costa arrived in the German city on Tuesday to partake in the final round of negotiations with Freiburg in regards to the transfer fee, which is expected to be around €15 million.
Freiburg sporting director Jochen Saier spoke earlier in the week stating that players would only be sold once they have a replacement for the outbound player. The Bundesliga club have already signed 22-year-old attacker Ermedin Demirović from Deportivo Alavés.
Sources tell Get German Football News that Luca Waldschmidt’s father is in Lisbon to tie up contractual details for the move to Benfica.
