Hansi Flick: “It was important that we didn’t lose today, it was a wild game.”

Speaking after Bayern Munich’s 3-3 draw against RB Leipzig, head coach Hansi Flick praised the impact of Jamal Musiala in what was “a wild game.”

“We have to be satisfied,” said Flick. “It was important that we didn’t lose today. It was a wild game. For their third goal, Forsberg shouldn’t be free inside the box like that but you also have to say that RB Leipzig played well.”

Jamal Musiala replaced Javi Martínez in the first-half owing to an injury to the Spaniard but it’s a move that settled the Bundesliga champions: “We didn’t have much control over the ball at the beginning of the game but that changed when Jamal came in.

“He is always making himself available and asking for the ball. What he’s showing for his 17 years of age is already very mature.”

Musiala scored the equaliser before a brace from Thomas Müller but it was Kingsley Coman who assisted all three: “He had a great game today,” said Flick. “There are few in his position who have his quality.”
