Emre Can on Borussia Dortmund’s form: “We have to fight our way through Christmas.”

Speaking after Borussia Dortmund’s 1-1 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt, Emre Can reflected on the team’s performance.

“We didn’t play well in the first half,” said Can. “Eintracht on the other hand, did a great job. We wanted to chance that in the second half, so it was a deserved 1-1. In the end, the 1-1 draw is okay.

“It wasn’t easy for me. I hurt my foot and I haven’t exercised all week. Mats was also ailing and didn’t train yesterday. I also have to compliment the team. It’s not easy to play here in Frankfurt. Dan [Axel Zagadou] has done brilliantly after such a long time [out through injury], we definitely need him. We have to fight our way through Christmas now.”

Daichi Kamada gave Eintracht Frankfurt the lead after nine minutes before Gio Reyna equalised for Borussia Dortmund. Lucien Favre’s BVB have now picked up just four points from a possible 12 in the Bundesliga.
