Dominik Szoboszlai is close to joining RB Leipzig

According to Sky Germany, Dominik Szoboszlai is close to joining Bundesliga side RB Leipzig from RB Salzburg with only the final details left to be clarified.

The 20-year-old Hungary international has decided to join RB Leipzig, despite interest from several European clubs, with both sides hoping to announce the deal before Christmas.

Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Arsenal and AC Milan have shown an interest in signing Szoboszlai, who has scored eight and created nine in 19 games in all competitions for Austrian side RB Salzburg this season.

Speaking on the Fútbol with Grant Wahl podcast in November, RB Salzburg head coach Jesse Marsch admitted that players could leave in January: “The reality is that a guy like Dominik Szoboszlai is likely to have many suitors this winter.”

The Hungarian has a €25 million release clause in his salary with several clubs already in contact with Szoboszlai’s advisors.

Since making his RB Salzburg debut in 2018, Szoboszlai has scored 25 and created 33 in all competitions, which will add further firepower to RB Leipzig’s already young and exciting attacking threat.
