Rummenigge on Haaland: “As long as we have Lewandowski, we don’t need him.”

Speaking exclusively to Italian outlet Tuttomercato, Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge discussed the Bundesliga club’s attacking situation and why they won’t be making a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland in the immediate future.

“Haaland is doing well at Dortmund and to be honest but as long as we have Lewandowski, we don’t need him. I can’t predict what will happen in the future because I’m only in charge until December 2021,” said Rummenigge.

“On Haaland winning the 2020 Golden Boy, the 65-year-old added: “He is a beast. He scored a lot of goals and deserved the Golden Boy Award. [Alphonso] Davies wasn’t disappointed, he had a great year and won everything.”

Haaland has featured in 14 games in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 17 and creating three. averaging a goal every 66 minutes with Lewandowski scoring 15 goals in 16 games in all competitions.

Bayern Munich will face Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
