Chelsea haven’t contacted RB Leipzig for Timo Werner – Oliver Mintzlaff

Speaking to Sky Germany prior to RB Leipzig’s game against Paderborn, Leipzig managing director Oliver Mintzlaff confirms that they’ve yet to receive an offer from Chelsea for Timo Werner.

“We haven’t had an exchange with Chelsea yet. So far, Timo Werner has not drawn the clause, nor has a club sent a transfer contract. We have nothing to report and do not take part in the daily speculation,” said Mintzlaff.

According to Sky and Kicker, Werner will finalise his move to Chelsea next week once they trigger the German’s release clause. The 24-year-old is in talks over a five-year contract with the Premier League club.
