Bayern Munich playing “at the limit” – Hansi Flick

Speaking after Bayern Munich’s 3-1 win at VfB Stuttgart, head coach Hansi Flick praised the team for getting the three points in what was a tough fixture.

“We know that we won’t win any beauty awards with a game like today,” Flick told Sky Germany. “But we are delivering results. We also have to look at other teams because the results are not always as you would expect. The workload is extremely high for everyone.

“It’s important that we came back after going 1-0 down and took the three points back with us to Munich. That’s what counts in the end.”

Tanguy Coulibaly fired Pellegrino Matarazzo’s Stuttgart into the lead before Bayern Munich equalised through Kingsley Coman, six minutes before Robert Lewandowski gave Flick’s side the lead heading into the break. Douglas Costa added Bayern Munich’s third three minutes from time.

“I know that the team is at the limit right now,” added Flick. “We don’t want to complain. We’re all facing the same conditions. For us, it’s important to get the points and not leave anything behind.”

Bayern Munich are now two points ahead of RB Leipzig, who beat Arminia Bielefeld whilst title challengers Borussia Dortmund dropped points vs FC Köln, who hadn’t recorded a Bundesliga win all season before today.
