Speaking prior to Bayern Munich’s trip to VfB Stuttgart, head coach Hansi Flick has praised summer signing Leroy Sané but also pinpointed areas of improvement for the Germany international.
“He is 100% fit. His efficiency is very good,” said Flick. “But like many others, he had some unnecessary ball losses against RB Salzburg but there are reasons for that, we talked about it. He will try and do better in the next few games.
“When he comes in, he gives us a new dynamic and he is always there to get a goal. It’s clear that after his long injury, he still needs something but he’ll get time. We’re counting on him.”
Flick hinted that the 24-year-old could start vs Stuttgart on Saturday afternoon but with Serge Gnabry, Kinglsey Coman and Douglas Costa in the squad, he needs to work hard.
Sané joined Bayern Munich from Manchester City for an initial €45 million and has gone on to play six Bundesliga games for Flick this season, scoring three and creating two.
