Borussia Mönchengladbach head coach Dieter Hecking is the top candidate to be head coach at Schalke next season, according to Kicker.
The 54-year-old announced last week that he would be leaving Gladbach at the end of the season, while Huub Stevens remains in charge at Schalke until the end of the season following the recent sacking of Domenico Tedesco.
Kicker’s report suggests that Schalke want to hire an experienced Bundesliga coach that is able to stabilise the club, with Wolfsburg’s Bruno Labbadia another name that’s been linked.
