Although Borussia Dortmund’s concrete interest in Werder Bremen midfielder Thomas Delaney, the two clubs are yet to agree a transfer fee.
Bremen want €25 million, while it was reported last week Dortmund’s offer was around the €15m mark, according to Kicker.
Speaking to Deich Stube, Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann said: “We are well on the way to finding a solution that is right for everyone. It may be that he is going to the tournament, it may happen that it happens afterwards. It depends on whether the interested club meets our expectations, and they are very clear.”
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Bremen want the deal concluded before the World Cup so they can focus on reinforcements.
With the departures of Zlatko Junuzović & Jerome Gondorf, Baumann also stated that Bremen will look to sign two midfielders should Delaney leave for Dortmund.
