VfB Stuttgart have completed the signing of Holger Badstuber on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at Schalke as he looked to regain fitness following an injury-plagued Bayern Munich career. Badstuber joins on a one-year deal.
“No-one should ever forget their roots – and I haven’t either! VfB was and is something very special to me and the club had an immediate impact on me emotionally. The region, the fans, the mood of optimism… I can hardly wait to get stuck in!,” Badstuber told the club’s website.
