Douglas Costa to Juventus looks to be off

Douglas Costa’s move to Juventus looks to be off despite both parties being close to agreeing a fee, according to Bild. Rules in Italy state that clubs can only acquire two non-EU players per season.

Juventus have already signed Boca Juniors and Uruguay U20 international Rodrigo Bentancur. The Italians are also looking to sign Real Madrid’s Danilo, who would be their second non-EU signing.

However, Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeneß has stated Costa could yet move this summer should a club pay the €50m Bayern are asking for.
