Borussia Dortmund have ceased negotiations with FC Basel regarding a move for Manuel Akanji, per Bild.
The Swiss club value their 22-year-old defender over €30 million with Dortmund only willing to pay around €25m. The increase in asking price is likely due to the fact that Liverpool have now entered the race to sign Akanji.
Reports in Switzerland suggest that Basel aren’t willing to let Akanji depart the club until the summer, due to the fact that they’re in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Should Borussia Dortmund miss out on their target, they will turn their attentions towards Colombia international Yerry Mina, who is also wanted by Barcelona.
