Bayern Munich to take legal action against Stuttgarter-Zeitung over Joshua Kimmich claims

Bayern Munich have announced that they will take legal action against Stuttgart-Zeitung after a report in the Stuttgart based outlet claimed that Joshua Kimmich had asked to leave Bayern in the summer.

“An outrageously false report,” Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told FCBayern.de

“This story lacks any foundation. Joshua Kimmich has a contract with FC Bayern until 2020 and will definitely play for us next season,”  the Bayern chairman concluded.

‘Bayern Munich will immediately take legal action against the Stuttgart newspaper.’ A statement on Bayern’s official website read.

Stuttgarter-Zeitung claimed that Kimmich had asked to be listed for transfer in the summer after getting frustrated at the limited game time and lack of assurances by manager Carlo Ancelotti that he would be Phillip Lahm’s successor at the club.

Joshua Kimmich himself denied reports linking him away from the club.

“I haven’t read it and am definitely not away from Bayern yet, I can’t say any more about it.” Kimmich was quoted by Sky Germany.
