Anthony Modeste will finally get his move to Tianjin Quanjian in what will be a record sale for 1. FC Köln.
Bild reported late on Thursday evening that the Frenchman is close to a €35.7m move to the Chinese Super League club, with just the final details waiting to be finalised.
Sporting director Jörg Schmadtke (via Geissblog.Koeln) says that Friday could see Modeste clear out his locker – which could mean a move early next week.
For the transfer to go through, Bild are stating that Köln have asked Tianjin Quanjian to 1) Pay the fee in full & 2) Köln will not pay the consultant fees.
Meanwhile, Kicker report that Modeste will earn €11m per season, whilst the 29-year-old’s former club, Hoffenheim, will receive around €3.5m of the transfer fee.
