Squad planning is already in full effect at VfB Stuttgart after qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League. After showing interest in Cercle Brugge’s Nazinho in March, their pursuit may now enter the next stage.
According to Kicker, qualification for the Champions League will certainly play a huge factor in the race to sign left-back Nazinho, who has scored three goals and provided eight assists in 30 league appearances for his Belgian side this term.
With Ramon Hendriks better suited to central defence and Maximilian Mittelstädt playing as a left-sided centre-back in a back three in the second half of the season, the Swabians are in search of a left-sided player.
As such, Kicker report that VfB scouted Nazinho during Cercle Brugge’s 2-1 victory over FCV Dender, where the Portuguese player played the full 90 minutes.
Lacking a player of Nazinho’s profile, Sebastian Hoeneß has often deployed Chris Führich in this role, but would rather play their attacking player further up.
