Real Madrid reportedly close €100m deal for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé

Fabrizio Romano is currently reporting that RB Leipzig have agreed to sell Ivorian winger Yan Diomandé to Real Madrid for €100m. This amount falls below Leipzig’s presumed asking price. Romano nonetheless claims that Leipzig have accepted. The 19-year-old is expected to travel to the Spanish capital this week to undergo his medical and sign a contract through 2031.

At the time of this filing, however, no German source has confirmed that the two clubs have reached a final agreement. Sky Germany transfer specialist Florian Plettenberg maintains that negotiations remain ongoing and that no agreement has yet been completed. Romano’s report must therefore be treated with some caution until Leipzig or additional German sources corroborate the development.

Real previously submitted an offer consisting of €90m upfront and another €10m in bonuses. Leipzig rejected that proposal and reportedly demanded a package worth at least €120m. The Bundesliga club paid approximately €20m to sign Diomandé from Leganés last summer.

A deal slightly above €100m would therefore generate an extraordinary profit and make the 19-year-old Leipzig’s record sale. The precise guaranteed fee, bonus structure and any sell-on provisions remain unclear.
