After making his Bundesliga debut for Borussia Mönchengladbach against Elversberg on Matchday 2, the Foals will have to do without summer signing Nicolas Kühn for the foreseeable future.
According to a report by Bild, Kühn suffered a torn muscle bundle and will be sidelined for several weeks, meaning he likely won’t feature again before the international break at the end of the month.
It’s a blow to Gladbach, who have suffered successive defeats – against RB Leipzig and Elversberg – to start their 2026/27 campaign. In addition to Kühn, they’re already without Jens Castrop (shoulder), Daiki Hashioka (neck), Yukhym Konopolia (knee) and Enzo Leopold (ACL). Additionally, Zento Uno is short of match fitness following a muscular injury and now, after coming on in the 69th minute, Kühn joins a growing injury list.
Eugen Polanski’s side travel to the Black Forest to face unbeaten Freiburg on 12 September before hosting Mainz the following week. After the international break, the Foals resume their campaign against fierce rivals Cologne.
