Borussia Dortmund and Genk reach agreement regarding Konstantinos Karetsas

Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement with Genk to sign Greece international Konstantinos Karetsas, according to Sky Germany.

Die Schwarzgelben will pay a total package worth a reported €32m – with add-ons for the 18-year-old attacking midfielder, who will sign a five-year contract until 2031.

According to Kicker, Karetsas is set to undergo a medical in the coming days.

The Black and Yellows have been working relentlessly to make this move possible. Sporting Director Nils Ole Book didn’t travel to Japan with the team to make sure this deal goes over the line.

Karetsas is one of the most highly rated young talents in Europe at the moment, and many believe he will be a strong addition to the Dortmund squad after the departures of Karim Adeyemi and Julian Brandt.

Karetsas made 53 appearances for Genk in the Jupiler Pro League, where he scored three goals and provided 13 assists. In the Europa League, he has two goals and five assists in 11 outings. He has also made 10 appearances for the Greece national team, scoring three goals.
