VfB Stuttgart to engage in talks with Sebastian Hoeneß at the end of the season amid speculation over his future

According to kicker, VfB Stuttgart wish to engage in talks with manager Sebastian Hoeneß at the end of the season amid speculation over his future.

Hoeneß has been linked to Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich as of late due to the domino effect of Thomas Tuchel departure from Bayern in the summer. Hoeneß’s contract expires in 2025 meaning that any compensation fee for the manager could be low.

On his future at Stuttgart, Hoeneß said: “Everyone who experiences me here sees how much I like being here and how I totally focus on what’s going on here. I want to keep doing that.”

Hoeneß joined Stuttgart last season and saved them from relegation, whilst despite big names leaving in the summer he has completely turned the team around from relegation fighting to contending for the Champions League places as VfB currently sit third in the Bundesliga only six points off of Bayern.

However, could the draw of managing at Bayern where he was a youth coach and his uncle, Uli, is still a key figure in charge be too much to turn down? Whilst at Leverkusen he would have a bigger budget to work with compared to at Stuttgart.
