VfB Stuttgart in talks with Brighton over signing Mahmoud Dahoud on loan for the rest of the season

Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart are in talks with Brighton over bringing former Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud back to the Bundesliga on loan.

Since joining from Dortmund on a free in the summer, Dahoud has struggled for game time spending the majority of his time on the bench so the 28-year-old is interested in a return to the Bundesliga. The move would be a loan with an option to buy in the summer.

Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth is already in talks with Dahoud’s agent over the move, whilst negotiations with the club are advanced.

A move for Dahoud would not only provide additional depth in Stuttgart’s midfield which has had to heavily rely on Atakan Karazor and Angelo Stiller this season, but it would also bring experience to a young team that is trying to qualify for the Champions League this season with Dahoud having qualified with Mönchengladbach and Dortmund in the past.
