According to Sport Bild, the bosses at Bayern Munich are becoming increasingly critical of Thomas Tuchel and the manager is fighting for his job.
The main reason behind the criticism is that Tuchel has yet to impose a recognised style of play at Bayern as he approaches a year in charge at the club.
Recently Tuchel has begun to show similar characteristics to Julian Nagelsmann in the latter stages of his tenure at Bayern. Internally, Nagelsmann expressed the fact that he did not know what to do with the team, but Tuchel has not expressed his issues internally but more so in the public in interviews, highlighted after the loss to Werder Bremen at the weekend.
Since taking over from Nagelsmann, Tuchel has been knocked out of the DFB Pokal twice against Freiburg and third-tier Saarbrücken, lucky to win the Bundesliga title after Borussia Dortmund collapsed on the final day and were thoroughly beaten by Manchester City in the Champions League.
The question for Bayern now is that if they sack Tuchel there is no manager available at the level to replace him, whilst if Xabi Alonso chooses to stay at Bayer Leverkusen in the summer then once again Bayern will struggle to find an adequate replacement.
