Serge Gnabry injury latest after Bayern Munich star works on comeback

It’s been a torrid six weeks for Serge Gnabry, who is currently working on his Bayern Munich comeback.

The 28-year-old was substituted on against Eintracht Frankfurt in the 66th minute in Bayern’s 5-1 defeat, but lasted just five minutes because of a hamstring injury.

Working on his return, Kicker report that Gnabry should return to the Bayern Munich squad in around six weeks, at the beginning of March, providing the German forward doesn’t suffer any further setbacks.

Gnabry has been disappointed with his performances this season after impressing Thomas Tuchel during pre-season. But this is largely due to the fact that the player having fewer minutes on the pitch.

With various setbacks this season, Gnabry has played just 228 minutes across five Bundesliga games, and is yet to score in the league this season.

But the German national team player has showcased what he can achieve under Tuchel, scoring five and creating one in the last five games last season.

If Gnabry returns to the Bayern squad on schedule, there could yet be a chance that he makes Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany squad for Euro 2024.
