RB Leipzig looking to extend the contract of Benjamin Henrichs

Sky Germany reports that RB Leipzig are looking to extend the contract of right-back Benjamin Henrichs, with an offer already on the table for the German international.

Leipzig’s reasoning behind already offering an extension is that they want clarity on Henrichs’ future at the club. The right-back’s contract expires in 2025 and both the club and player have agreed that Henrichs willnot leave the club on a free transfer, this means that the ulitmatum is that he either extends or is sold this summer.

Henrichs remains a key player in the Leipzig squad not only in the dressing room but on hte pitch as well where under Marco Rose he has played himself back into contention for the Germany squad ahead of Euro 2024.

The squad planning surroduning Leipzig means they have no outfield player apart from Henrichs and Christopher Lenz who has deals that expire at the earliest in 2026. This was after Amadou Haidara extended his contract at the club until 2026 last week.
