Ranked | Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen among highest scorers in Europe’s top 5 leagues

Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen have scored a combined 111 goals in the Bundesliga this season as they break away from Stuttgart in what now appears to be a two-horse race for the Meisterschale.

The duo lead the way for goals scored per league game across Europe’s big five leagues this season.

Per Opta, Bayern Munich have scored an average of 3.0 goals per league game, while Bayer Leverkusen average 2.6 goals. They lead Manchester City (2.5), Paris Saint-Germain (2.4) and Inter (2.3).

Not only that, Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich have collected a total of 102 points in the Bundesliga this season, a new record in the history of the competition for the top two teams after 20 games.

All eyes on Bayer Leverkusen vs Bayern Munich

With just two points separating Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, all eyes will be on the game at the BayArena this weekend as Xabi Alonso’s side host Bayern.

Harry Kane will be the one to watch. After 20 games, the Englishman has 24 goals and six assists in the Bundesliga this season, taking his tally to 28 and eight in 27 games across all competitions. That’s what a fee short of €100m gets you, but whether or not that will be enough to lift the Meisterschale come May remains to be seen.

Bayer Leverkusen will do everything in their power to move five points clear of the Rekordmeister on Saturday.
