Preview: Freiburg vs Bayern Munich

This weekend the Bundesliga fixtures start with a Friday night match between Freiburg and Bayern Munich at Europa-Park.

2nd placed Bayern Munich will be continuing their chase in the title race whilst 9th placed Freiburg will be looking to get closer to a spot in a European competition next season.

Bayern kept their title hopes alive last weekend in dramatic fashion as they beat RB Leipzig 2-1 in the 91st minute.

Harry Kane scored both goals for Bayern.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are now eight points behind the league leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

They now have the chance to put pressure on Leverkusen again before their Champions League round of 16 second leg tie against Lazio on Tuesday.

Freiburg made a superb comeback in the Europa league last week as they came from 2-0 down to beat Lens after extra time.

Their form in the Bundesliga however, has been far from superb. Christian Streich’s side have not won in their last five games and have collected just one point from a possible 15.

They can take confidence from their European run though and additionally have good home form in the league as they have lost just twice at home this season.
