Official | Mahmoud Dahoud returns to the Bundesliga joining VfB Stuttgart on loan

VfB Stuttgart have announced that they have completed the loan signing of Brighton midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud for the rest of the season.

On joining Stuttgart, Dahoud said: “I am very pleased that the change to VfB has worked. It’s nice to be able to play in the Bundesliga again. VfB is a great club with a great tradition and great fans. The team plays an exciting and impressive football. I already know some players from the U21 national team. I’m looking forward to seeing you again at VfB and can’t wait to get started with the team on the pitch.”

Dahoud returns to the Bundesliga after six months in England are Brighton. The 28-year-old joined Brighton in the summer on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund but struggled with game time on the South Coast.

The midfielder’s loan move to Stuttgart does contain a buy option but the value of the clause is currently unknown.

The acquisition of Dahoud will add much-needed depth and experience in Stuttgart’s youthful team. Dahoud has experience in qualifying for the Champions League having done so with both Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund. He will also add an alternative to either Atakan Karazor or Angelo Stiller, both of whom Stuttgart have heavily relied upon in their midfield this season.

Stuttgart currently sit third in the Bundesliga after a 5-2 win against RB Leipzig at the weekend.
