No negotiations between Beşiktaş and Borussia Dortmund for Sébastien Haller

Contrary to reports originating from Turkey, there are no negotiations between Borussia Dortmund and Beşiktaş for the loan of Sébastien Haller.

Ruhr Nachrichten are reporting that there is no substance to the original report, which also suggests that an agreement had been reached and that Beşiktaş would cover the 29-year-old’s entire salary.

Haller has struggled this season and is yet to score in 374 minutes across the Bundesliga and Champions League, playing second-fiddle to Niclas Füllkrug. However, the Ivorian – who is currently representing his national team at the African Cup of Nations – is the only like-for-like competition for Füllkrug, with Youssoufa Moukoko a different profile.

And so RN‘s report would be more conceivable. Without a replacement for Haller, it’s extremely unlikely that Dortmund would all the former West Ham and Ajax forward to depart in January.

Borussia Dortmund, who sit fifth and are already 15 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, resume their Bundesliga season against bottom side Darmstadt on Saturday afternoon.
