Manchester United hold talks with Bologna for Joshua Zirzkee

As reported by Sky Germany, talks between Manchester United and Bologna have taken place regarding the transfer of Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee (22).

Erik ten Hag has identified Zirkzee as a transfer target for the summer and to provide competition for Rasmus Højlund. Bayern Munich are also monitoring Zirkzee’s situation after allowing the player to leave on a permanent basis in 2022. The Dutchman has a contract with Bologna until 2026 although the player has a reported €40m exit clause.

Bayern Munich to receive a percentage of any Joshua Zirkzee sale

Zirkzee has scored seven goals in 19 league games for Bologna this season, and has been named Player of the Month twice. Should he leave the Italian club in the summer, Bayern Munich also hold a 50% resale share, meaning they will pocket €20m if Zirkzee joins Manchester United.

Although Bayern Munich have loose interest in re-signing their former player, Manchester United are also targeting Barcelona’s Ronald Araújo, a defender that the Rekordmeister have shown an interest in. As Manchester United look to rebuild their defence, Bayern’s Matthijs de Ligt also remains an option for the Red Devils– the Dutchman played under ten Hag between 2017 and 2019.
