Gregor Kobel & Jadon Sancho: Borussia Dortmund injury updates before Hoffenheim clash

Edin Terzić has provided an update on the fitness of Gregor Kobel and Jadon Sancho among others ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga clash against Hoffenheim on Sunday.

Kobel (26) was injured during the warm-up of their Champions League tie against PSV on Tuesday with Alexander Meyer stepping in. According to Sky Germany, Kobel picked up an adductor injury with Terzić further confirming that he will be out of Dortmund’s game this weekend.

“Gregor Kobel will definitely miss the game as he didn’t feel well after warming up,” said Terzić. “We’ll wait and see how things develop in the coming weeks.

“He’s a professional player and cares about his body. It’s not just an issue at BVB, but in football in general. Because of the high pressure, it’s not easy to play through.”

Terzić also confirmed that Sébastien Haller remains sidelined with an ankle injury, while Felix Nmecha is not yet fit. However, Karim Adeyemi will return to the squad, while Niklas Süle isn’t at “100 percent.”

On Sancho, Terzić added: “We’re happy that he’s symptom-free, feels good and is 100 percent fit for action.”

Borussia Dortmund host Hoffenheim on Sunday before a trips to Union Berlin and Werder Bremen.

After last weekend’s 1-1 draw in Wolfsburg, Dortmund sit fourth, one point ahead of RB Leipzig and four behind third-placed Stuttgart.
