Eric Dier unlikely to stay at Bayern Munich beyond the end of the season

Sport Bild reports that there are doubts surrounding Bayern Munich defender Eric Dier and it means he is unlikely to stay at the club beyond the summer.

The main doubts surround Dier’s ability and his basic performances. The fact that the 30-year-old is also not the quickest does not weigh in his favour.

Dier has been used five times since joining Bayern in the January window from Tottenham. If the defender continues to play, there is a certain number of games which will trigger the clause in the loan agreement that will make his move permanent for around €3m. Dier was originally brought in as a backup in defence due to an ongoing injury crisis at the club.

With Thomas Tuchel leaving in the summer, it is increasingly likely that Dier will not be a permanent part of the Bayern squad as the former Chelsea, PSG and soon-to-be Bayern Munich manager was one of the main players behind Dier’s arrival.
