Borussia Mönchengladbach in talks with Ao Tanaka over transfer from Fortuna Düsseldorf

Bild and Sky Germany both report that Borussia Mönchengladbach are in talks with Fortuna Düsseldorf midfielder Ao Tanaka over a potential move in the summer.

It is reported that talks have been held and numbers have been discussed between the two parties, but there is no agreement yet, contrary to what Bild reports. If a move does happen in the summer, then the fee for the midfielder would be around €2.5m.

However, it is not just Tanaka that Gladbach are interested in. Bild also reports that Gladbach also holds an interest in Montpellier midfielder Joris Chotard as well as AZ Alkmaar striker Vangelis Pavlodis. Both have contracts at their respective clubs until 2025 but a move could only take place if Gladbach sells Manu Koné, in addition to the revenue from their DFB-Pokal run.

It is believed that Koné could bring in close to €30m. This means that Tanaka and Chotard would both act as replacements for the 22-year-old.
