According to Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund are working on achieving a verbal agreement with Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier.
On Monday, it was confirmed that West Ham United had signed Niclas Füllkrug from BvB in a deal worth €30 million.
As well as this, Youssoufa Moukoko is also seemingly bound to leave the Westfalensatdion this summer.
With a number of Ligue 1 clubs showing interest in signing the 19-year-old, Dortmund are hopeful of securing Beier as their replacement.
However, negotiations with Hoffenheim are yet to begin, and instead, BvB are focussing on reaching a verbal agreement with Beier himself.
It is understood that Dortmund and Beier are close to agreeing on personal terms, which would see Die Schwarzgelben offer the German international €5–€6 million a year.
Those in charge at Dortmund are keen to get this deal over the line, including head coach Nuri Şahin, as they consider Beier to be their ideal long-term striker.
Hoffenheim have been made aware of Dortmund’s interest, and it is believed that Dortmund would be willing to match Die Kraichgauer’s €25 million valuation of Beier, as a deal could be finalised this week.
