Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman forced off with knee injury

Kingsley Coman was forced off with a potentially serious knee injury during Bayern Munich’s win at Augsburg on Saturday afternoon. The Frenchman was injured in the build-up to the Rekordmeister’s opening goal, colliding with Phillip Tietz.

“It’s a knee injury,” said Tuchel. “We’ll have to wait and see as to what the final outcome is. It’s probably a fairly serious injury – it looked a painful one. There was no chance of him staying on the pitch. We’ll check the ligaments and then see where to go from there.”

Coman was pictured leaving the stadium on crutches.

And Coman’s injury is another blow to an already depleted Bayern Munich squad. Dayot Upamecano, Konrad Laimer and Joshua Kimmich all missed Bayern’s 3-2 win against Augsburg after picking up injuries in midweek against Union Berlin.

Serge Gnabry is also sidelined, with the German attacker still around six weeks out from making a return to the squad. Bayern are also without Noussair Mazraoui (Morocco) and Kim Min-jae (South Korea), who are representing their country at the Africa Cup of Nations and Asia Cup.
