Bayern Munich have found their successor to Thomas Tuchel: Julian Nagelsmann

As reported by Sky Germany, Bayern Munich are planning to pursue Julian Nagelsmann as Thomas Tuchel’s successor.

It had long been reported that Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso was Der Rekordmeister’s number one target this summer; however, he recently committed his long-term future to the Bundesliga champions. This left Bayern in a difficult situation, with the club searching for alternatives.

Despite showing interest in Brighton & Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerbi, Bayern had also hinted towards rehiring Nagelsmann, a topic the current Germany head coach was questioned on during the international break. Nagelsmann was previously relieved of his duties last season after a poor run of form in the Bundesliga and replaced by Tuchel.

Nevertheless, it appears that now it will be Nagelsmann succeeding Tuchel, as Bayern aim to amend their mistake of letting the 36-year-old go. It is understood that a three to four-year contract will be offered to Nagelsmann as Bayern begin to plan for the future.

According to the report, Nagelsamnn is assured that if he returns to Bavaria, the board will fully support him, unlike his first stint at the Allianz Arena. Regardless, he is still yet to give his final decision to those at the Säbener Straße.
