Bayer Leverkusen submit offer for Manchester City target Jovan Mijatović

BILD have cited Serbian outlet ‘Telesport’ suggesting that Bayer Leverkusen have submitted an offer of €8m plus €4m in bonuses for Jovan Mijatović (18) of Red Star Belgrade.

This comes after a recent adductor injury to Victor Boniface, which is likely to keep the Nigerian out of action until April. Despite this, Xabi Alonso confirmed that the club won’t rush into making any decisions in the transfer market.

But if they are to land Mijatović, B04 face competition from Manchester City. Per the report, the Premier League side have submitted an offer of €10m, plus a further €2m in bonuses. Mijatović would then join New York City FC, a member of the City Group, on loan, which is also confirmed by Gianluca Di Marzio.

Mijatović has 10 goal contributions (eight goals and two assists) in 14 league games for Red Star Belgrade this season, while the 18-year-old has 11 goals across all competitions, including two in the UEFA Youth League. The talented forward has also played 115 minutes in this season’s Champions League.
