‘Arsenal have a certain flair and exude strength’ – Serge Gnabry has high praise for former side

Serge Gnabry is wary of the threat that Arsenal pose ahead of Bayern Munich’s trip to the Emirates.

The Bundesliga side come into this game following a horrific collapse against Heidenheim on Saturday, seeing their 2-0 lead overturned.

But Bayern’s full focus is now on the Champions League. This comes after Thomas Tuchel already conceded defeat in the Bundesliga title race with the club now 16 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen with just six games remaining.

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich, who are the favourites?

When speaking via the club’s official channels, Gnabry was asked which team was favourites heading into tomorrow’s Champions League clash.

“Arsenal have had what it takes to play at the top again for a long time. The team has a certain flair and exudes strength. The odds are probably 50-50.” – Serge Gnabry

Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen noted after the Champions League draw that this Arsenal team isn’t the one that suffered three successive 5-1 defeats against the Bundesliga side.

Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have improved immensely. They sit top of the Premier League ahead of Liverpool on goal difference, while this is the first time that Arsenal have played in a Champions League quarter-final since 2010s defeat against Barcelona.

Speaking on the current Arsenal team, Gnabry added: “Arsenal have been on a very good run since Christmas. In any case, you can’t really say anything bad about a team that’s competing for the Premier League title. They’re strong, good finishers and are keen on having possession. They’re formidable in their own stadium with their fans behind them. It will be a difficult task, with two strong teams coming up against each other.”
