VfB Stuttgart likely to sell both goalkeepers in the summer

Kicker reports that it is looking more likely that VfB Stuttgart will sell both of their goalkeepers this summer.

Both Florian Müller and Fabian Bredlow have failed to convince any of Stuttgart’s managers this season. Müller was in goal until earlier February before being replaced by Bredlow under previous manager Bruno Labbadia. Bredlow has yet to convince current manager Sebastian Hoeneß.

Müller joined Stuttgart in 2021 from Mainz for €5m as a replacement for Gregor Kobel who went on to join Borussia Dortmund but has failed to replace the Swiss international. While Bredlow joined in 2019 from 1.FC Nürnburg for €300k and has spent most of his time at the club as Stuttgart’s understudy goalkeeper.

Stuttgart are currently 17th in the Bundesliga two points from safety with two games to go. On Sunday, they are away to Mainz before facing fellow relegation rivals Hoffenheim in the final game of the season.

There are two potential options on the market for Stuttgart who could become their starting goalkeeper. Augsburg’s Rafal Gikiewicz will be available on a free transfer. The same can be said for former Germany under-21 goalkeeper Finn Dahmen who has failed to get any game time at Mainz and will leave the club at the end of the season
