Union Berlin’s Julian Ryerson to Borussia Dortmund is a done deal

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Julian Ryerson’s move to Borussia Dortmund from Union Berlin is a done deal.

The 25-year-old right-back will move to Dortmund this winter after both clubs came to an agreement. The Norwegian international will sign a contract until 2026 and comes with a 5m price tag.

Ryerson moved from Norwegian side Viking to Union Berlin in 2018 and has played 80 times for the irons scoring on two occasions. The right-sided defender has been a staple in the Union defence and has been with the club since their rise from the second division all the way to European football.

With consistent high-quality performances, Ryerson has earned 15 caps for Norway since his debut in 2020 and has now attracted the attention of Borussia Dortmund.

BVB were after defensive cover after it was announced that right-back Thomas Meunier would be out for six weeks. Ryerson is a like-for-like replacement and adds more depth to Dortmund’s squad.
