Several Bundesliga clubs interested in Schalke midfielder Assan Ouédraogo

Sky Germany reports that Schalke midfielder Assan Ouédraogo has attracted interest from several Bundesliga clubs as well as Brighton.

Bayern Munich are monitoring the 17-year-old and will continue to scout Ouédraogo ahead of a potential move next summer. The defending champions are likely to face competition from clubs who have a better background of developing young talent with Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Brighton also interested in Ouédraogo.

Ouédraogo’s contract will turn into a professional contract once he turns 18 in May and once this happens a release clause will be activated in this contract. The release clause is said to be valued at €15-20m depending on the performances of Ouédraogo this season as well as the division that Schalke are in.

The 17-year-old has played nine times for Schalke this season as they currently sit 16th in the 2.Bundesliga and have struggled to adapt following relegation as well as having one of the worst defensive in the league under former manager Thomas Reis.
