Real Madrid show interest in Bayer Leverkusen duo

As reported by Sport Bild, Real Madrid are keeping tabs on two Bayer Leverkusen players ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

The two players on the club’s wishlist include Moussa Diaby (23) and Jeremie Frimpong (22).

Carlo Ancelotti (63) plans on reinforcing the squad’s attacking threat this summer and finding cover in case Karim Benzema slows down or falls to injury. One of the players shortlisted includes Diaby.

However, Real would face competition from several Premier League clubs for the attacker. This includes Arsenal, Newcastle, and Manchester United.

Currently Leverkusen’s top goalscorer in the Bundesliga with 9 goals, Diaby is showing good form and plenty of potential. However, a move to Madrid may be more surprising. The 23-year-old has several connections in England and therefore a move to the Premier League seems more likely.

In addition to Diaby, Real also see Jeremie Frimpong as the ideal candidate to replace the ageing Dani Carvajal (31). Despite playing as a right-back, Frimpong can be highly offensive at times and use his blistering pace to good use. Despite playing a defensive role, the Dutchman has 8 goals and 6 assists in the Bundesliga this season. However, it’s the same issue with Frimpong as it is for Diaby. The Dutchman is leaning towards a move to the Premier League and is reportedly in contact with Manchester United.
