RB Leipzig made contact for Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko

Ruhr Nachrichten report this morning that RB Leipzig made contract with Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko during the summer. The young German forward finds himself in a less than ideal situation at the club following the signing of Werder Bremen’s Niclas Füllkrug before the transfer window closed on Friday.

There was also a talk of a potential swap deal with Bremen to bring Füllkrug to the club, but instead BVB paid a reported €15m to sign last season’s Bundesliga top scorer. Now, Moukoko finds himself behind Sébastien Haller and Füllkrug in the competition to lead the line for Die Schwarzgelben.

Moukoko has played just 55 minutes across four games, scoring one goal, in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund this season, but hasn’t started in either of them. Currently on international duty with the Germany U21s, Moukoko may yet find his playing time further decreasing following the arrival of Füllkrug, who played 12 minutes against Heidenheim, in comparison to Moukoko’s one, as Dortmund were chasing a winning goal.
