Ralf Rangnick advises Julian Nagelsmann to join Tottenham Hotspur

Ralf Rangnick has advised Julian Nagelsmann to join Tottenham Hotspur, according to Sky Germany.

The former Manchester United and current Austrian national team head coach believes that Spurs is an exciting club with huge potential. The 64-year-old told Sky Germany presenters: “I think Tottenham is an exciting club in many ways. They probably have some of the most modern, beautiful stadiums in the world at the moment. They have one of the best training centres, that is there at the moment and Daniel Levy, who has been leading the club for many, many years.”

Nagelsmann was previously linked with the job at Chelsea and had extensive talks with the club over a number of weeks. However, the 35-year-old opt against joining the club despite being Chelsea’s number one target. Currently under the interim management of Frank Lampard, Chelsea sit in the bottom half of the Premier League and won’t take part in European football next season.

This is something that Spurs could offer Nagelsmann that Chelsea can’t right now. Not to mention, Spurs’ squad includes the likes of Son Heung-min and Harry Kane who was tipped with a move to Bayern when Nagelsmann was in charge.

However, a possible move to Spurs this season could cost the London-based club big. Nagelsmann is still under contract with Bayern and would therefore need to buy him out of his current deal. The German coach may also expect compensation from Bayern if this happens.
